Our Nonpartisan PledgeThe League of Women Voters of Northern Portage County is strictly nonpartisan: we never support or oppose any political party or candidate. We do take positions on issues — but only when they're grounded in member study and consensus, never in party alignment. Board members and officers who represent the League follow additional guidelines to keep our voter education and advocacy work impartial, so every community member can trust what we say and who we serve.

Ohio Congressional District MapsOn October 31, 2025, the Ohio Redistricting Commission Approved new maps for Congressional House Districts.
The approved map splits Portage County into two House Districts - OH-13 and OH-14. |

|
As a subset of the National League and the Ohio League, the Northern Portage County League of Women Voters advocates within the communities of Aurora, Freedom, Garrettsville, Hiram, Mantua, Nelson and Shalersville.
Each local League develops and comes to a consensus on positions within its community with which it takes action. The action taken may be in several forms, including letter writing, testifying at pubic hearings, serving on committees and/or commissions, and lobbying at local, state, or national levels for legislation. |
